Inundated on meters - Maroondah Leader

Tuesday, 16th February 2010 for immediate release

KILSYTH state Liberal MP David Hodgett says his office is being ``inundated'' with complaints about the State Government's rollout of smart meters. Mr Hodgett said residents were concerned about many issues, including paying for meters they might not receive for three years and higher peak-hour billing. He said the Government should look at providing concessions for vulnerable residents. Energy and Resources Minister Peter Batchelor said the Government had called for a full review of regulations to ensure Victorians were not disadvantaged by pricing structure changes. He said the Opposition refused to commit to rolling back smart meters.
